It gets as simple as the name says- Kare Sama specializes in Kare Raisu (Japanese Curry Rice); this new Japanese restaurant can be found at Queens Residences Q2. While Kare Sama's main specialty is Japanese Curry Rice, the menu also features other Japanese delights like Yakitori, Donburi etc. The place has a standard Japanese restaurant interior decor, tables are well-spaced to assure comfort. The food items are reasonably priced. To find Kare Sama, take the escalator at Queens Residences Q2 car park, the Japanese restaurant is within sight from the car park exit.
We were asked if we want to add the extra tornado Omelette on our Chicken Katsu Curry Rice and it was a no brainer. The Curry sauce was nicely done- rich, creamy with a mellow sweetness yet, not overshadowing the Curry flavor. The Chicken Katsu was equally good- reasonably seasoned with crispy texture on the outside and juicy, meaty inside. A pity that the Rice was a little overly soft to our liking (probably our visit was early). We enjoyed the flavor combo nevertheless and thought it was a good Japanese Curry Rice. The Salmon Oyakodon on the other hand, was a little disappointing. The Salmon was thinly sliced and they were not generous enough with the Salmon and Shrimp Roes. The Rice to Salmon ratio felt a little scarce. The rest of the dishes were alright-okay. The only dish that we found ourselves enjoying and would happily eat again is the Japanese Curry Rice.
