The Pomelo Restaurant & Bar Rolls Out New Pizza Menu @ The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, Ipoh, Perak.

The nation's best luxury natural hot springs wellness retreat- The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat is merely 20-min drive away from Ipoh city center and offers great facilities to guests to recharge and rejuvenate. But many do not know that the retreat is well-equipped with dining options. The Jeff's Cellar is one of the city's top fine-dining destinations, only did it bag multiple awards; the restaurant also offers unique ambiance and setting second to none. But many do not aware that the retreat has another cozy, casual all-day restaurant- The Pomelo. The Pomelo serves ala-carte buffet breakfast to the retreat's guests in the morning and the all-day menu commences after noon; the restaurant welcomes public to dine-in but early reservation is required to enter the property premise. As for dining ambiance, The Pomelo presents a cozy indoor and al-fresco dining within any one of the three Gazebos that extend over the hot springs.

One of the specialties at The Pomelo, The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat's casual all-day restaurant is Pizza. All Pizzas are hand-made and carefully baked to perfection. As for the Pizza menu, the culinary team (under the supervision of Chef Boon Lee) of The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat has out-done themselves by rolling out a Pizza menu with close to 30 Pizza choices (both savory and sweet Pizzas). It includes some classics and timeless combo, some bold and adventurous creations as well as some extravagant choices for those with deep pockets.

Classic and safe options like Beef Pepperoni, Frutti Di Mare (Seafood) and Tonno (Tuna Flakes). For the Cheese lovers, go for the Quattro Formaggi... which comes with an in-depth, exquisite Cheese flavor (mainly from the Blue Cheese). Taking it a step further, Chef Boon and team also came out with a series of themed Pizzas, with the idea of blending in some locals' favorites into Pizza. Some fun creations include Satay Pizza, Nasi Lemak Pizza and Giappone. Both Satay and Nasi Lemak Pizza do resemble the nation's favorites with the former one possesses bold sweet-nutty flavor while the latter one has a spicy-sweet Sambal kick. Giappone on the other hand, offers a Japanese-inspired flavor combo that resembles Takoyaki. The addition of Bonito Flakes has definitely added the right touch to the dish.

The Vogue series is not something for everyone but for those who are willing to splurge on good food, go for the McLaren with Foie Gras served on crispy Pizza dough, complete with fresh Figs. The addition of fresh Figs is brilliant, unlike citrusy fruits which may be over-powering, the fresh Figs offer the right amount of juice to complement and cut through the greasiness of the buttery Liver. For those with deeper pockets can go for The Millionaire, the most expensive Pizza available in The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat. It comes with a handful of Foie Gras, ground Japanese A5 Wagyu, Burrata Cheese, 24 Edible Gold and Truffle. The combo does speak a thousand words.

For those who can't end a meal without dessert, try their sweet Pizzas. The Chocolate Marshmallow Pizza is a sweeter choice as compared to the Very Berry Pizza. The former one has a chocolaty flavor with a sleek sweetness (not overly sweet as 70% Dark Chocolate is used) while the latter option veers towards the sour side... due to the fresh Raspberries.
