About The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat Ipoh:
Nestled in a 22.7-acre valley, the retreat is surrounded by lush tropical rainforest and Paleozoic limestone hills of 260 million years. Apart from the exclusive villas, there are many points of interests and activities that guests can partake to improve the mental and health wellbeing. To ensure guests have a peaceful health and fitness getaway, the retreat only welcomes guests 12 years of age and above.
Guests will need to make reservations before entering the property premise, verifications will be done at the security check point upon entering the property. Free parking is provided for all guests. As soon as the car is parked, you will be greeted and escorted to the reception. After the check-in procedures, guests will then be chauffeured to the villa via a buggy. The buggy driver will do a simple tour around the retreat and briefly introduce the retreat's features. The retreat currently has 4 types of Villas- the Garden Villa, the Water Villa, the Lake Villa and the new Grand Garden Villa.
We were lucky to have stayed in the new Grand Garden Villa (with price starts from RM5,000 per night). The 260 SQM Grand Garden Villa ensures total privacy and a sense of tranquility. It comes with a large, luxurious dining and living spaces, well-connected with technologies and gadgets (like BOSE Sound System, complimentary WiFi etc). The Bathroom is also well-equipped with amenities, guests can enjoy their stay here without the trouble of bringing any amenities. The Bedroom, offers a huge premium bedding with a Pillow menu for guests to choose from (6 different types of Pillows). The Living Room at the other end, offers a good, comfortable space to ensure coziness. Guests can enjoy a good, relaxed meal here or have a sip on a cup of Joe while enjoying the natural breeze and green landscape.
The outdoor courtyard is a good fit for anyone who prefers a refreshing dip; be it at the private swimming pool or the private geothermal hot tub with Jacuzzi feature. Whether it is a morning dip or an evening relaxation, the villa offers the perfect setting.
As part of the retreat experience, check out the Garra Rufa Doctor Fish Pool where the doctor fishes will eat away the dead skin and promotes skin regeneration. Right next to the Doctor Fish Pool is the Therapeutic Reflexology Pond with stone reflexology path. Just as you thought you have finished exploring the retreat's facilities, there's more! Be sure to check out the Meditation Cave (next to the Jungle Walk entrance), Fitness Centre and Geothermal Heated Swimming Pool. The adventurous should definitely check out the Jungle Walk- a 30 min jungle trekking trail through the deep limestone hill forests of the Lost World of Tambun where one gets to explore unique types of flora/fauna, cascading waterfalls and mysterious caves. Along the journey, there is a "Sweet Spot" awaits. It is a 24-hour-available spot (with passcode to be told upon check in) where guests get to receive an icy sweet treat (chilled Mineral Water and Fruit Sorbet).
Set within the 260-million-year-old limestone cave, Jeff's Cellar offers a unique dining experience second to none. It is said to house one of the most unique wine bars in the world. The regularly rotating degustation menu offers farm-to-table delights along with carefully curated wines, courtesy of celebrated Chef Boon. This is a popular fine-dining destination that requires at least 48-hours of advance reservation/booking.
