Chicken Rice lovers would be glad to know that there is a new spot in Georgetown offering Thai-styled Chicken Rice. The new Chicken Rice joint- Thai Chicken Rice Shop can be found at Chulia Lane. Like its name, the place specializes in churning out Chicken Rice... in various ways. The most-ordered item is usually the Thai Chicken Rice but there are also some worth-checking out ones like the Thai Basil Chicken, Honey BBQ Chicken or the Koay Teow series. The menu is fairly small, the returning regulars are mostly back for the Chicken Rice... but this is definitely a place where you can find decent Chicken Rice with wallet-friendly price point.
Both Rice and Noodle options are available at Thai Chicken Rice Shop. We had both, we were pleasantly surprised that the Koay Teow was very delicious. The seasoning was spot on and the Thai-styled Chili sauce paired with it perfectly; would be better if more Chicken was served but not complaining for that price. The blanched Chicken and BBQ Chicken were alright, not that they were not good but nothing out of the ordinary. We found ourselves enjoying the Thai Basil Chicken more; the sauce carried a hint of sweetness and with the Thai Basil fragrance, it was delicious spooned over rice.
