For an inexpensive, value-for-money and filling North Eastern Chinese Dong Bei cuisine, try Dong Bei Jiao Zi 东北饺子 at Noordin Street. The Dong Bei cuisine specialist occupies a corner lot of Jalan C.Y. Choy and Noordin Street, offering a rather authentic Chinese fare. Expect a sweat-inducing experience as the place is not air-conditioned and the food menu consists of plenty of spicy options. The menu is fairly big with Dumpling, Noodle and Rice options... but are all reasonably priced. Not a shabby place to satisfy your cravings for Chinese Dong Bei food.

The signature Beef Noodle is a must-order dish with different level of spiciness can be chosen. We had the mild spiciness and it was all good. It has a mild punch of spiciness, quite addictive but not entirely sweat-inducing. The broth was quite beefy with a sleek acidity, the noodles were nicely cooked with al-dente texture. The portion however, might be too big for one to finish entirely. For appetizer, we recommend their Dried Bean Curd Appetizer... chewy Dried Bean Curd served with julienned Carrots, Cucumber, Coriander etc... in a spicy-acidic dressing. The Dumplings were nothing out of the ordinary and so did the BBQ Chicken Skewer and Beef Skewer. Both BBQ items we had were under-seasoned and under-marinated.
