Max Cafe @ Lip Sin, Sungai Dua, Penang.

Max Cafe is a new venture by the Maxim group, the Hong Kong Cha Chan Teng-styled restaurant can be found right next to the Maxim Dim Sum restaurant at Lip Sin. The new restaurant occupies the corner lot of the same place, offering a Hong Kong-inspired menu... featuring many familiar Cha Chan Teng-styled dishes. There are not much options when it comes to side dishes or quick nibbles though. Comfortable space but the price points seem to be on the higher side given the small serving portion...

Original Wan Ton Mee (Rm 12.90)

Sze Chuan Style Spicy Minced Meat Dry Ramen (Rm 16.90)

Portuguese Egg Tart (Rm 5.90 each)

Prawn Dumplings (Rm 7.90)

The Original Wan Ton Mee was very good, the texture was perfect and the soy sauce was just spot on. We love every bits of the noodles but the portion was way too small to justify for the price tag. Like-wise, the Sze Chuan Style Spicy Minced Meat Dry Ramen was delicious as well but it would be better if its spicier. The Portuguese Egg Tart did not disappoint- flaky pastry with sweet, custardy filling. Overall, the food quality was alright but the serving portion was less-satisfying...
