March Fourteen Cafe @ Sungai Bakap, Penang.

Found at one corner of Kampung Jawi (Sungai Bakap), March Fourteen Cafe is like an oasis in the desert... and probably the only cafe in the neighborhood. Opened in mid November 2021, the cafe adopts minimalist interior decor in shades of white... offering a cozy, modern space. The menu features a mix of local delights (like Fried Rice) and Western dishes (ie: Pasta) with some simple dessert choices. Budget-watchers would be glad to know that the price points are pretty affordable (compared to the Penang island standards).

Tiramisu in Glass (Rm 15)

Rare Cheesecake (Rm 10)

Chocolate Bar (Rm 12)

Bubble Milk Tea (Rm 19)

Cold-Pressed Orange Juice (Rm 10) and Long Black (Rm 8)

Cappuccino (Rm 10)

We did not get to try their mains on our visit as we were there post-lunch. For after-meal sweet treats, we had Rare Cheesecake, Tiramisu in Glass and Chocolate Bar. The Rare Cheesecake was creamy enough but the serving portion was too small. It did not quite give us the satisfaction as expected (not in terms of taste but serving portion). Like-wise, we did not quite enjoy the Chocolate Bar served with Vanilla Ice Cream as well. We thought the Chocolate Bar was somewhat too crumbly and barely registered any Chocolate flavor, it relied heavily on the top Chocolate layer to give it the distinctive flavor. The Tiramisu in Glass was alright, creamy with bold Coffee flavor but serving it in a glass makes it harder for sharing.
