Ate At Eight Cafe @ Carnavon Lane, Georgetown, Penang.

One of the few pet-friendly cafes in town- Ate At Eight Cafe is a new, humble cafe that can be found at Carnavon Lane. The place has an easy-going, relaxed vibe, probably due to the leafy plants around. The cafe offers a Western-fusion menu, featuring an array of fairly interesting dishes, with some specials of the day available (which will be announced on their Facebook page). Dishes are reasonably priced, considering the variety and generous serving portion; do check it out if you are looking for something different.

Tom Yam Seafood Pasta (Rm 24.80)

Salmon Bowl (Rm 24.80)

We could feel the sincerity through the dishes we had, the Salmon Bowl consisted of grilled Corns with Butter, grilled Salmon, Korean Seaweed flakes and Kimchi... served atop of warm, sticky pearl rice. The dish could not go wrong with the classic Korean-inspired combo, especially with the Korean Seaweed flakes and Kimchi around to spark things up. A pity that some of the Salmon pieces were slightly undercooked but that did not really bother us too much and we liked the fact that the rice was served to us piping hot. Tom Yam Seafood Pasta was equally interesting, we expected the Pasta dish to be served dry but instead, it carried some soup. The Tom Yam flavor was there but the sour-element was too bold for us. The sauce was too watery and less-clingy to the Spaghetti.
