Lim MaMa Taiwanese Food 林妈妈台式手作美食 @ Carnarvon Lane, Georgetown, Penang.

Filled with minimalist furniture and homey peaceful dining atmosphere, Lim MaMa Taiwanese Food 林妈妈台式手作美食 at Lorong Carnarvon is the place where you can find classic, home-cooked style Taiwanese delights in town. The menu is small but good enough to satiate your cravings for Taiwanese food- dishes are affordably priced and the serving portion is hearty. The seating capacity is limited and less accommodating for big groups at Lim MaMa's place so if you are planning a group visit there, do make your reservations earlier.

Lim MaMa did the classic Taiwanese Egg Rolls well- the Egg Rolls were thin and soft with bold Egg aroma... a pity that the thick Soy Sauce was a little less-exciting. Probably due to the home-cooked factor, they somehow toned down the saltiness... which resulted the dish a little less-satisfying. For mains, we had both Cold Noodles and Zha Jiang Mian; both were alright and the noodles were expertly cooked to the right texture. The Cold Noodles possessed a bold Garlicky flavor but the acidity from the Vinegar killed the dish and was a little overly sour towards the end. Another side order- Pork Dumplings in Chili Oil was nothing out of the ordinary, the Chili Oil lacked the distinctive fragrance (importantly Peppercorn was missing). But for Rm 6.50, we've got 8 dumplings and we could not complain for that price.
