Opened in late March 2021, Pace Coffee at Beach Street is one of the latest spots for brunch in the heart of Georgetown. The modern cafe has an easy-going environment- with simple interior; though the tables and chairs are not that accommodating for bigger groups. The menu has a list of familiar brunch favorites like Big Breakfast, Egg Ben, BLT Sandwich etc... with prices are slightly on the expensive side. The menu is solid but the service is a lackluster (we had to wait for slightly more than an hour for our orders to serve), probably due to first day jitters.
Egg Benedict- Smoked Salmon (Rm 25)
Big Boss Breakfast with Scrambled Egg (Rm 29)
Oven-Baked Chicken (Rm 24)
Cinnamon Roll (Rm 7)
Lemonaza (Rm 15) and Dragon Pearl Jasmine Tea (Rm 11)
Our brunch options included Big Boss Breakfast with Scrambled Egg and Egg Benedict; the former one has a fare share of the Big Breakfast elements- the quintessential Egg (we had Scrambled Egg), Ham, Sausage, Stir Fried Button Mushrooms, Hash Brown, Greens and a couple of Toasts. The Scrambled Egg was fine, though a little watery, they doneness was decent. Other elements were straight-forward. Egg Benedict fared better. The expertly cooked Eggs were served on Avocado-spread Toast as well as slivers of Smoked Salmon. The seasoning was spot on and the combo was lovely. Oven-Baked Chicken on the other hand, was less-impressive. It was merely baked Chicken served on a bed of roasted Potatoes, served with some seemingly instant, ersatz-quality Barbecue sauce. There were some hits and missed.
