The Maker @ Beach Street, Georgetown, Penang.

The Maker is one dessert mecca that you have probably seen on your Instagram feed, it is destined to be a star thanks to the colorful, aesthetically pleasing sweet treats and pastries. Not only that the food offering catches attention; the minimalist interior decor with shades of natural wood offers a comfortable space to declutter and wind-down. Under the same care as &Dolce, The Maker does not offer any main but a range of desserts and pastries displaying at the order counter. Affordable prices, huge and comfortable space... are some of the reasons that make this place worthy for your next cafe hop.

Scone (Rm 6/ each)

Cream Cheese Croissant (Rm 6)

Chocolate Croissant (Rm 6)

Strawberry Shortcake (Rm 16)

All pastry orders are heated up before serving to diners. The Cream Cheese Croissant left us with the deepest impression... buttery flaky on the outside but creamy, sweet inside; the contrast in texture makes it very addictive to the bite. The scones were alright either... served with Cream and Jam; the texture was crumbly but a little too dense and bready to my liking. We also had a slice of their Strawberry Shortcake, which turned out to be very good as well. The cream was the soul to the dish... perfectly light but creamy to taste. The Sponge was especially fluffy and soft as well, the Strawberries... which may not be in season, were a little sour but the acidity cuts through creaminess, the combo was satisfying.
