23 Takehana is probably one of the oldest restaurants at Auto City, the fact that the restaurant could withstand the test of time is a testament of the consistency of the food quality. We were there during the CMCO period so the menu was rather limited. The usual menu does not seem to be that extensive either but the price points are modest and quite wallet-friendly. Nothing spectacular on the interior decor, just some basic ones that resemble the Japanese theme... more like a place for a casual meal or a quick Japanese fix without putting a dent on the wallet.
Kitsune Udon (Rm 22)
Unagi Don (Rm 30)
Yaki Ika (Rm 28)
The Yaki Ika was nicely done... with an alluring buttery fragrance. It was served with Japanese Mayonnaise. The edges were slightly overcooked but the middle ones were fine. For mains, we had both Kitsune Udon and Unagi Don; the former one was served in a comforting, delicious Dashi broth but nothing was overly exciting. The Unagi Don on the other hand, was less-impressive. The Eel was somewhat too dry to our liking... affecting the overall texture.
