Residents staying at Permatang Tinggi should not be new with Cun Xiang 村香燉品屋飯店... not only that it can be found facing the main road (near the entrance to the residential area) but it is also a popular dinner place for those staying in the vicinity. While the place does not offer a big menu, it does churn out delicious yet invigorating Chinese Herbal Soup and stir up some familiar home-cooked dishes. Prices are most affordable and the dishes are intimating, a place for a casual quick fix without putting a dent on the wallet.

We had 2 types of Herbal Soup- The Kampung Chicken Herbal Soup and Duck Thigh Herbal Soup; the former choice had a lighter, cleaner taste while the latter option possessed a bolder meaty flavor. Both were heavy in herbal-aroma. While diners can opt to enjoy the Soups with Rice, instant Noodles, Yellow Noodles or Mee Sua; we decided to go for the classic combo. To top it off, we also had Steamed Fish with Soy Sauce. It was a seasonal dish and depends entirely on the supply of the day, we were lucky to get some really fresh ones.
