To paint the restaurant in millennial pink has been a global trend to gain attention, in fact, it has been around for quite some time. But the gimmick does not stop there and SPINK is one of them that goes all out to vie attention with its plush pink interiors. The color that represents love has caused a stir on social media, attracting people to come over to take pictures and feel beautiful. While the place has a gorgeous setting, the seating arrangement is quite narrow... leaving inadequate spaces between tables and therefore, the privacy is compromised. The food menu is not too shabby but might set you back with steep price tags. But if you do like to have a booze, the drinks menu is pretty extensive. On a side note, if you are feel like trying your luck out, pay RM 20 and you'll get a chance to spin the "Wheel of Fortune" and see if you will land yourself a Lobster meal (other prizes include Spaghetti, Burger, Wrap, Pork Ribs etc).
Saba Shio Yaki (Rm 16)
SPINK The Pumpkin Spaghetti (Rm 38)
64.5 Degree Celsius Free Range Chicken (Rm 45)
Fortunately, the food was not served in pink. We started with the Saba Shio Yaki... fatty Saba grilled over sweet Soy sauce; the caramelized surface carried an addictive sweet-bitter taste but worked perfectly well with the fish. We were worried if the fish turned out too dry but it was perfectly fine; quite a well-executed dish. Subject to daily specials, SPINK The Pumpkin Spaghetti was the dish we redeemed using the voucher obtained from the "Wheel of Fortune" that day. It was basically Spaghetti cooked in creamy Pumpkin sauce, a nice change from the creamy-rich Carbonara sauce... the vege-sweetness cuts through the creaminess. Presumably sous-vided and seared, the 64.5 Degree Celsius Free Range Chicken had a juicy-tender texture served over a bed of creamy mashed and stir-fried Mushrooms. The Chicken was beautifully seasoned and palate-pleasing but not with a "wow" factor. Nevertheless, we thought the food was great despite the steep prices. Would love to come back if they could offer more comfortable seating.
