Tucked away in a housing area of Simpang Ampat, Yoyo Wich is a little far from the main street but it does not stop Banh Mi lovers from getting there... mainly due to its fresh, crispy daily-baked Baguette. It's a pleasant sight to find a modern, cozy cafe at Taman Idaman and once you are in, you will be welcomed with a whiff of freshly baked Baguette. The menu is pretty much Baguette-focused, with different fillings as well as a couple choices of cakes.
Lemongrass Chicken with Egg Butter (Rm 12.90)
Baguette Yogurt Curry Chicken (Rm 11.90)
Cotton Cheese Cake (Rm 12.90)
We suspect the Baguette was overly toasted and was a tad too dry to our liking, not the dry bread type of dryness but we found our laps covered with crumbs and bread shrapnel. The filling was not any better either, the Lemongrass marinated Chicken felt a little too dry and the overall texture was less-satisfying. Likewise for the Baguette Yogurt Curry Chicken, but on the Yogurt Curry Chicken, it felt a little too diluted and could be more flavorful. It was also a little too scarce for the amount of Baguette given. On the cake, the Cotton Cheese Cake was moist but the cheesiness did not meet our expectation, we've had better ones. Also, we thought it was a little steep for such a portion (at the price of Rm 12.90).
