Vantage Desiran Tanjung has quick become a Korean hub with many Korean restaurants and marts but not many noticed the existence of Soju Chang Go... a quiet Korean restaurant (manned by a Korean couple) on the upper floor of the commercial building. The facade is covered in dark shades, push the door open and you will find yourself in a seemingly shady bar but the friendly lady proprietor would greet you. Once seated, she will then pass you a small Korean menu featuring some familiar Korean delights and some uncommon dishes. Prices are slightly lower than big establishments but the variety is less-extensive. If you are in dire need to get your cravings fixed, this place is a worth a look.

It's uncommon to see Tteokbokki Hot Pot in Penang but Soju Chang Go offers this piping hot delicacy. The Korean Rice Cake is served together with a variety of Fish Cakes, vegetables, hard-boiled Egg and topped with instant noodles. The scorching red sauce is sweet but not as thick as the usual stir-fried Tteokbokki. It's a little watered down and you can drink it with the Hot Pot goodies. The one we had was good, everything was reasonably seasoned with good consistency. The Bibim Guksu was equally delicious... evenly tossed in Korean spicy sauce, the noodle-texture was well-maintained and the crunchy elements were sufficient (contained Clams, julienned Vegetables, a halved hard boiled Egg. While we were happy with the food quality, there was one particular thing that went missing... the serving of Banchan. There was no Banchan, not even some simple serving of Kimchi.
