Lobster and Beef Hotpot @ Precinct 10, Tanjung Tokong, Penang.

A new addition to Precinct 10 at Tanjung Tokong- Lobster and Beef is a new Hotpot restaurant in the neighborhood. Looking at the name, it gives an impression that the place serves Western food... similar to the concept of Surf and Turf but in actual fact, the hotpot specialist has an exhaustive list of hotpot ingredients. Though there are family-friendly options, there are some premium ingredients cater for those with deeper pockets... like Boston Lobster and Wagyu Beef. The standard set package is priced around Rm 138 (serves 2-3 pax) but the quality commensurate with the prices that you are paying. The health-conscious would be pleased to know that the Soup bases are rather healthy, ranging from Collagen Soup, Beef Soup and Old Hen Soup. On an interesting note, there is a counter that diners can enjoy unlimited, refillable vegetables (and of course, various sauces and dips). Not the cheapest place to dine in but the quality is definitely a bar above your average hotpot joint.

Beancurd Skin Roll (Rm 9)

Collagen Soup (complimentary for set order/ Rm30 for ala-carte orders)

The signature Collagen-rich Soup comes with rich and natural-sweetness... as well as an alluring aroma. Set B comes with a long list of ingredients and it allows diners to choose between Pork or Beef. We had the beef option and amongst the ingredients, notable one was the Australia Ribeye Beef... skillfully sliced to perfection. Equally delicious would be the thickly cut Fish... absolutely fresh with good texture. As much as we love the freshness of the ingredients, we thought the real draw was the Collagen Soup... which somehow, complemented the ingredients a lot.
