One of the latest ventures by Chin Chin group- Quickie sets foot in Penang Gurney Plaza end of last year. As suggested by the name, Quickie seeks to offer quick bites or light snacks for those who are on the go. The menu features an array of creative dishes mainly consists of Capellini, Rice Bowls and Sandwiches; don't expect the same, usual Sandwich joint though, this place takes the game beyond your regular Tuna Mayo Sandwich. Though limited menu, the choices comprise of a blend of Western and local Asian delights- it has something for everyone; good pit-stop to pop in for a quick but delicious meal while stretching your shopping legs.

Excite your palate by starting with their Unagi Capellini, a beautifully paired combo of Angel Hair and a piece of Unagi; a perfect amalgamation between the fish oil and al-dente Pasta. Rice Bowls are popular items at Quickie by Chin Chin, the Salmon Rice Bowl is one of the signature ones. Served in piping hot bowl, the rice is topped with a big slab seared Salmon steak, pickled Cucumbers, Japanese Shichimi Togarashi- inspired spices and jeweled with a runny, alluring half-cooked Egg. It is also served over Japanese sweet sauce; the flavors were multi-dimensional... with sweet, spicy, savory, sour notes all in a bowl. The best part is, the whole dish is kept warm throughout the meal time and at the end of the meal, you will find those addictive, crispy rice puffs at the bottom of the bowl.

If you are a fan of Sandwich and Cheese, go for their Mozzarella and Eggplant Sandwich. The Italian Cheese is first deep fried and served together with silky smooth, fork-tender Eggplant, spread with Tomato sauce. Strings of Cheeses will be pulled out once you halve the Sandwich; the cheesiness is definitely a winning factor here but if you are afraid that it may get a little too heavy on the palate, the Tomato sauce cuts through the creaminess and offers a refreshing dimension. As for the Fries, diners have the option to upgrade to Truffle Fries (Fries with additional Truffle oil).
