Koay Teow Th'ng has always been Penangites' favorite local food- it can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The folks at Kampung Benggali love their Koay Teow Th'ng... and it started from Kim Seng (金星) before the rival appeared. Nevertheless, patrons still flock to Kim Seng... making it one of the busiest breakfast places around. The place is known to pair Koay Teow Th'ng with Roasted Pork (Sio Bak)... the locals like to slather their rice noodles with plenty of home-made Chili paste. Not exactly the best one around though.
Dry Koay Teow Th'ng (Rm 4.20/ regular)
Koay Teow Th'ng (Rm 4.20/ regular)
Sio Bak/ Roasted Pork (Rm 13/ regular)
Cabbage with Oyster Sauce (Rm 3)
The dry version seems to be the popular choice here... with their home-made Chili paste. But the concoction was a tad too salty to our liking, we did not find it outstanding. The fishballs on the other hand, were larger than usual though. The Roasted Pork combo (with the Koay Teow Th'ng) was alright but may be a little heavy on the palate due to its overly salty seasoning.
