Serving modern Thai food with a cozy, casual cafe vibe, Blue Chang is a new comer to the Penang food scene. Housed in the Penang Club annex, the Thai restaurant takes up a corner space of the building; the atmosphere is intimate- modest but exudes minimalist elegance (without heavy Thai knick-knacks) . The menu features flavorsome Thai food, often with a modern twist; do not expect the prices to be low here... but they commensurate with large serving portion. If Pulau Tikus is within your usual lunch area, their Set Lunch is worth a look.

Blue Chang's Set Lunch offers great value... every set comes with a serving of Thai Papaya Salad, a glass of Thai Milk Tea and a serving of Coconut Ice Cream. The braised Pork Knuckle was delicious, though slightly sweet, the meat was beautifully cooked till fork tender... it carried a hint of spiciness and perfectly spooned over Rice. The Pad Thai was legit but it struck us with a bold sweetness, perhaps a little too sweet to our liking. Otherwise, it was a good one. Nothing to shout over the Stir Fried Hor Fun with Seafood, pretty standard except that it was a tad too oily to our liking.
