Golden T Cafe is the latest addition to Golden Triangle at Relau, but it runs as a cafe and a bar at the same time... well at least they have made an effort to extend the business hours till late (2 am). The seating arrangement is spacious but the lighting is less-welcoming. Never-mind on the lighting, the menu is interesting with some innovative dishes; Blue Cheese Clams is one to be named. But they come with a price, most items are priced slightly above average but they commensurate with quality. More to a place with proper, heavy Western-European menu in lieu of a cafe that serves sweet treats and light bites.
Blue Cheese Clams (Rm 30)
Egg Benedict (Rm 18)
Shakshouka (Rm 20)
Blue Cheese Clams definitely caught our attention, it was basically Clams cooked in a creamy concoction consists of Blue Cheese. It did not smell that great at first but the creamy sauce was lip-smacking! It has the distinctive Blue Cheese element... an exotic flavor coupled with Seafood sweetness, it was best to enjoy with toasted Bread (they served Baguette but I'd personally prefer those crusty with soft-pillowy bread to mop up the sauce). The Clams however, were not well-cleaned and fresh, only the creamy concoction was good.
The Egg Ben was pretty much standard-average, but if I must nitpick, it would be the bread... perhaps I'm a little old-school, I like mine with English Muffin in lieu of heavy, dense bread. Shakshouka, baked Egg with Tomato-based sauce on the other hand, was better. Probably it was served to us scorching hot, we thought it was pretty good... at least it was a nice juggle between the runny Egg Yolk, Mushroom and Chorizo.
