You might want to pay a little more attention when driving past the small and often forgotten road- Phuah Hin Leong Road; there is this new but quiet, unpretentious cafe tucked in one of the old houses along the road. The signage is not clear and the house is hidden behind a tree so it is no surprise that you might not even notice there is a cafe over there. Everyone is crazy about Ice Cream right now and practically everyone serves their own home-made Ice Cream with playful but creative flavors... that includes Creameal. Dig in some artisan Ice Cream with crispy-airy Waffles at Creameal; in order to satisfy your greed, you may even opt for triple scoops of the frozen treat. Mains are available too and so if you are looking for a full-fledged meal, it is possible at Creameal; though we would still recommend you to shoot for their Waffles.
Home-made Waffles with 3 Scoops of Ice Cream (Peanut Butter/ Earl Grey Lavender/ Thai Milk Tea; Rm 14.90). When we were there to check it out, there were 5 flavors available, ranging from the safe options like Black Sesame, Thai Milk Tea, Mango Orange Sorbet to more exotic choices like Early Grey Lavender and Peanut Butter. The Waffles were meticulously crafted, it was extremely crispy on the edges and airy-light inside; probably the lightest I've ever had. The Waffles were perfectly fine on its own but the sweet tooth may think otherwise. Satisfy the kid in you by having scoops of their artisan Ice Cream; we enjoyed their Peanut Butter the most... that ends with a salty note. The Peanut flavor stood out while we thought Lavender may taste a little artificial. Thai Milk Tea was alright but the tea element overpowered the milk element and thus, bolder acerbic undertones.
Baked Egg Florentine (Rm 16.90)
Egg Burgerdict (Rm 15.90)
The breakfast menu is available all day long; the Baked Egg Florentine was served in a mini casserole with Spinach, Egg and Mushrooms heavily drenched in Cream, finished with some Cheese. The taste was fine but we thought it was a tad too creamy to our liking and the Egg element was too weak (overpowered by the Cream). It was somewhat akin to Cream of Mushroom Soup in lieu of a Baked Egg dish. Egg Burderdict uses Burger in lieu of English Muffin; the Egg was a little overcooked. The Yolk did not ooze out as liquid as we would have hoped. The Hollandaise Sauce on the other hand, was a little too sour to our taste (too much Vinegar perhaps).
Mango Orange Sorbet (Rm 5.90/ Single Scoop)
