Its easy to miss Narrow Marrow... who would have thought that there is a snug little cafe tucked within those pre-war heritage houses along Carnarvon Street? The absence of a proper signage makes the search back-breaking. The artsy space- Narrow Marrow is a brainchild of interior designers Alvin and Jamie, which explains why Narrow Marrow has a rustic-retro interior decor with playful personal touches. It does not have much to offer at present, just a small menu featuring a couple of nibbles with a few types of drinks but the good news is, prices are exceptionally wallet-friendly. Narrow Marrow is just few shops away from the famous Jit Seng Duck Rice at Lebuh Carnarvon.
Sambal Prawn and Bun (Rm 10) was the only dish I get to sample that day. Home-made Sambal Hae-Bee atop toasted Wholemeal Bun, served with a thin slice of Butter, Cucumber and Parsley Leaf. It was an ingenious idea to add Butter on Sambal Hae-Bee; the marriage between the two was lip-smacking; the Butter added a sleek of creaminess to the Sambal Hae-Bee while the Cucumber added a juicy crunch to the bun. Decent but not mind-blowingly good.
Apple Crumble Muffin (Rm 5)
Banana Milk Espresso (Rm 12)
Iced Honey Lemon (Rm 5)
