Some Things Never Changed @ TGI Friday's Queensbay Mall, Penang.

Do you return to your favorite restaurant(s) for a dish that you love? I certainly do. TGI Friday's steak is one of my favorites and I tend to think of this place whenever I crave for one. The restaurant has devised a sturdy menu since its first opening in Malaysia and the pork-free status has added another welcoming touch to our Muslim friends. The restaurant is also well-known for its impeccable service and extensive menu. I'll share some of my favorites in TGI Friday's in this post and it will be great if you can share some of yours with me too.

This post is brought to you by TGI Friday's Malaysia.

Their 10 ounces slab of juicy Rib Eye Steak (Rm 53.90) is an undisputed way to award yourself for any occasions. Diners can choose the done-ness of the steak, the sauce, and two sides from the menu. I had Black Pepper Sauce with Cheddar Cheese Mashed Potatoes and Bean & Broccoli Blend for sides. The steak was well-executed to the right done-ness (which was medium anyway) while the Black Pepper sauce introduces a little sharpness to the dish. It was absolutely lovely.

It was my first attempt on this dish- Grilled Snapper with Tomato Cucumber Vinaigrette (Rm 33.90). It is a perfect dish for the health-conscious. The dish was served together with blanched Broccoli and Rice Pilaf. The Fish, however, was just okay and we thought it could be more flavorful but the real draw of this dish was the fragrant-savory Rice Pilaf- long grained rice beautifully cooked with Herbs, it was pleasingly delectable on its own.

Poultry lovers should not miss their Champion BBQ Chicken (Rm 32.90), half bird of grilled-to-perfection Chicken with sides of Mashed Potatoes and Onion Rings. This is one of my frequently-ordered dishes at TGI Friday's. What I love about this dish is its smoky-sweet Barbecue sauce that goes perfectly well with the Chicken, while the sides defy the conventional side of French Fries or Chips. A worth-the-value dish.

For pasta lover, go for their Garlic Spaghetti Vegetali (Rm 19.90) in which the beautifully cooked al-dente spaghetti will be tossed together with a few types of Vegetables. We had an additional add-on of Cajun Shrimps (Rm 8), the resilient and bouncy Prawns add another interesting dimension to the dish. It was not mind-blowing but it can be a decent order to fill up the stomach space.
