Thai Food @ Old City Food Court, Prima Tanjung, Penang.

I'm sure most people will not realize that there's a food court hidden in Prima Tanjung (well, unless you are staying nearby) and to my surprise, one can actually find some real authentic Thai food at the food court. There are quite a lot of choices in the food court but the two Thai Food stalls stood out to me for receiving the most orders and long queues can be spotted outside the stall. Prices are quite cheap and economical. Helmed by some Thais, most of our orders were just averagely okay but every single dish that we had tasted very authentic. Do try the Lam Mee and Thai Koay Chiap which can be found in the food court too!

I guess Thai Beef Noodles (Rm 6/ bowl) are not too commonly seen in Penang, I love the generous ingredients especially the Water Spinach (Kangkung). I was expecting the soup to be rich and flavorsome but it turned out to be rather bland, it tasted better after adding some of their chili condiments. The Koay Teow comes in clumpy instead of silky smooth, I guess I shall go for their Thai Vermicelli noodles instead; well at least, the Beef was braised till fork-tender and the Beef Balls were bouncily chewy.

Some of the condiments to be added to the Beef Noodles, I reckon locals would not add any Sugar to the soup, well, at least I would not.

Som Tam/ Papaya Salad (Rm 6.50) was okay but it lacked of the X-factor which gives an extra kick, my guess will be the dish lacked of some sourness and spiciness. It was a relief that the Papaya was crunchy and fresh.

We had an extra order of Tom Yum Chicken (Rm 7) to ease our crave for Tom Yum. The Tom Yum came in abundantly flavorsome and it has a hint of sweetness from the Coconut Milk. It will be better if I had opted for Tom Yum Seafood instead, the Chicken was rough in texture and we didn't enjoy the Chicken. As for the soup, we absolutely loved it. This soup received the most "Yes" votes from us.
