Well I guess this is my first time posting about eateries in All Seasons Place... You must be wondering... where is this All Seasons Place is located at? Well, if you are a resident of Penang and have been to Air Itam/Farlim/Paya Terubong area for the past few months, you would have noticed that there is this new building opening right beside the Air Itam market, where GIANT hypermarket has moved in approximately five months ago.... So 5th of December 2012 marked the a new milestone for Fa Guo San as it was the Grand Opening of the shop, where customers will receive a Mini Cheese Cup with a purchase of Honey Toast or their Waffle desserts. Fa Guo San is a new dessert eatery that offers some unique desserts which most of the menu can be categorized into Honey Toast, Waffles, Panna Cotta (Italian Pudding-like dessert) and Sandwiches. Choices are pretty limited and prices are slightly on the higher side, service-wise was attentive, I reckon its a decent place to have a short meet-up with friends.
Green Tea Red Bean Honey Toast (抹茶红豆蜜糖土司, Rm 17.90) comes in a monstrous portion which serves 3-4 person well. The Toast itself was at least 6-inches in height. It comes with a scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream, slices of Strawberries, Blueberries, Red Beans with a touch of Green Tea/ Matcha Powder. Since the pairing of Green Tea/ Red Bean has been agreeably good, I'd say the taste wasn't disappointing but it was neither surprisingly good as well. It tasted as what I have expected. However, the Honey Toast itself was toasted perfectly crispy (lightly spread with butter), it works perfectly well with the Green Tea Ice Cream, the sweetness was just alright for me, as for those who prefer slightly sweeter flavor, you might pour in the Honey provided.
Milk Peanut Butter Ice Cream Waffle (牛奶花生冰淇淋松饼, Rm 15.90). Frankly speaking, I'd say that this set is a bit pricey as Waffles are common and can be found anywhere... so does Peanut Butter. The overall combination was just common and nothing worth to shout over. The set consists of some Whipped Cream, Canola Butter, Milky Ice Cream (with a drizzle of Caramel), a tower of Peanut Butter Jam and 4 quarterly-sliced Waffles. Extra compliment for the use of healthy Canola oil but apart of this, I find everything was just too normal... too ordinary until the set looks pricey.....
You must be wondering... what is this? Flower? Pot? Edible? My answer is: Yes, it was a Cheese Cake! Does that answer all your doubts? Well for the first 3 days since their grand opening (until 7th of December, 2012 only), they will be giving away one complementary Mini Cheese Cup for every single purchase of Honey Toast/ Waffle. The flower standing straight wasn't edible but the "soil" was something like "Oreo-like" chocolate biscuits and there was cream cheese hidden beneath the "soil". I find it good actually, with a right balance of sweetness and creaminess.
