Catch By DAM D' Chef Dining @ Le Embassy Hotel, Burmah Road, Penang.

Housed in Le Embassy Hotel, a sharp-looking boutique hotel at the junction of Burmah Road and Transfer Road; "Catch" is a new venture by DAM D' Chef Dining, offering a big Western-styled Seafood menu (with a small Non-Seafood choices). The interior decor and setting is as neat and tidy as a restaurant should be, with tables are well-spaced apart. There is also a bar counter in the middle with a few seats for those who prefer to be seated near the bar. The place however, is dimly lit and offers a cozy-romantic setting to diners. On the menu, diners get to choose the main with a choice to upgrade it to a 4-course meal (a-la carte is available nevertheless) which features a Salad, a Soup, a Main and a Dessert (usually Cakes); the menu has a good selection of mains which cover mostly Fish and Seafood, with a few choices of meat. The alcohol menu is relatively big too, if you must know.

Baked Miso Butter Halibut (Rm 37.80)

Grilled Sea-Catch Grouper with Lemon Capers Sauce (Rm 35.80)

Cold Cut Platter (Rm 41.80)

House Wine (Rm 13.80/ White- Sauvignon Blanc)

We started our meal with the Cold Cut Platter which featured Salami Beef, Turkey Ham, Smoked Salmon, Sundried Tomatoes, Olives, Pickled Cucumbers, Cracker and Ice Plants; pretty straight forward and nothing out of the ordinary. But one thing we must commend- the choice of meat was expertly chosen, none of them were overly salty and worked well with a glass of Wine. For mains, we had Baked Miso Butter Halibut and Grilled Sea-Catch Grouper with Lemon Capers Sauce; the former dish featured creamy, fork-tender Halibut served with Miso Butter... we thought the flavor of the Miso Butter overpowered the Halibut and we could not even taste a hint of the fish. The latter one fared better- the Grouper was nicely grilled to perfection, the meat was firm and the fish-flavor stood out. The fish was also carefully seasoned so the Lemon Capers Sauce served at one side made more sense (we prefer to taste the fish without the sauce).
