Aroi Thai Food @ Prangin Mall, Georgetown, Penang.

If Prangin Mall is one of your usual lunch places then you should not be new to this Thai food stall previously located at the center atrium. It has since relocated to a shop lot on the same floor (4th floor)... offering more options to the public. Expect the classics like Mango Sticky Rice, Tom Yum, Som Tam, Tab Tim Krob to be included; the new additions would be the Thai-styled rice dishes. Though it is relatively new (since its relocation), the place is fast becoming a popular lunch place for those working nearby. Apart from its authenticity (this place is manned by Thai), the inexpensive price tag is one of the reasons why the regulars keep returning to this place.

Papaya Salad (Rm 6)

Chicken Feet Kerabu (Rm 7)

Tom Yum Maggie Soup (Rm 7)

Stir Fried Glass Noodles (Rm 6)

We were very satisfied with the food quality, leaving us with the deepest impression was the Tab Tim Krob. Aroi Thai Food's rendition has a little 'enhancement' than the traditional ones. It has many chew elements- Tapioca Balls, Herbal Jelly, Sweet Potatoes... almost like a crossover between Leng Chi Kang and Tab Tim Krob (the must-have elements are still there- Water Chestnut Balls and Jackfruit). The Salads were amazing- beautifully seasoned with alluring crunch; exactly the Thai-quality that you would expect from Thai food. The Mango Stick Rice was good for me but my partners in crime thought that the Glutinous Rice was overly chewy; they would prefer softer texture and creamier/ thicker Coconut Cream.
