Brew Thirty Two Coffee House @ Green Hall, Penang.

Chanced upon this place during my previous visit to Kaffa Espresso Bar , situated at Green Hall, finding a place to park your car can be a real headache especially during office hours. As the name of the coffee house suggested, Brew Thirty Two Coffee House specializes in brewing coffee, as well as serving some cakes and pastries. On top of the usual cakes, they do serve some mains too, although the menu is not that extensive. However, the kitchen was down for renovation during my visit, it was a regret that I couldn't try some of their mains. I was told by one of my friends that the service was bad when she visited this place a couple weeks back (on a weekend) but it was perfectly okay during my visit. We didn't wait too long until our foods were served. The decor is a glam casualness; it's the harmonious yet cozy ambiance makes this a perfect place for gatherings and get-together. Prices are reasonable considering there are no taxes nor surcharges.

I was delighted to see this Rum & Raisins Crepe Cake (Alcoholic- Rm 11.90); intrigued by its flavor, we've decided to give it a try. The enticing Cake was beautifully layered with some Raisins; as you sink your fangs deeper into the Cake, you will be welcomed by the strong aroma of Rum, awakening your taste buds. It was light and not creamy at all. One of my friends thought it was more to the sweeter side due to the Raisins but it was perfectly okay for me. One slipshod about the preparation was the Cake was not well-chilled, the texture was way too soft to our liking.

We get to try another uncommon flavor too- Bamboo Crepe Cake (Rm 11.90). This is definitely a noteworthy choice, the unique flavor of Bamboo was well-blended with the Cream, exuding a new yet harmonious flavor. It tasted somewhat like Hokkaido Crepe Cake I had at  Moustache Houze. It was not as sweet as Rum & Raisins though, a must-try item for those who adore the flavors of Bamboo. However, my gripe was the lack-of-bite texture, as it was creamier, the cake possessed a softer texture; too soft as though it was melting, the cake collapses before we could even finish it. Well, I guess they are still new, hopefully they get to rectify this problem and improve on the texture.

Cappuccino (Rm 9)
