Fooyo Fresh Fruity Dessert @ Prangin Mall, Penang.

I was informed by one of my friends about this new dessert eatery/kiosk opening at Prangin Mall, Penang. The grand opening of Fooyo Fresh Fruity Dessert falls on 31st of May, 2013 and they were having this Buy 1 Free 1 promotion (until 2nd of June, 2013). I always thought that the Yogurt-fever has faded since then and everyone seems to be focusing on Charcoal Burgers, but apparently I was wrong. Penangites are always there for desserts. Fooyo Fresh Fruity Dessert does have something unique enough to catch my attention-- Fry Ice Yogurt. They do offer some other products like Ice Blended Fresh Fruit Yogurt, Fresh Fruit Juice, Frozen Yogurt and Home-made Waffles but I can't be bothered to try any of these since they can be found anywhere in Penang. I was there on the second day of the promotion and it took me an hour to queue for my Fried Ice Yogurt. Price-wise, slightly steeper than what I was expecting but I guess it's alright since they are using fresh fruits and fresh yogurt. You can find Fooyo Fresh Fruity Dessert at Ground Floor of Prangin Mall, right beside Teo Chew Cendol kiosk at atrium A.

Freshly chopped Mango cubes will be first thrown into the "frying pan" to be mashed and Yogurt will then be added. The temperature of the "frying pan" is so low that it can freeze the Yogurt within few seconds. The staff will then spread the Yogurt thinly and evenly, the frozen yogurt will then be shoveled. Various toppings will then be added onto the Fried Ice Yogurt before presenting to you.

Mango Flavored Fried Ice Vanilla (Rm 8.50) was definitely one of the best among the four flavors we had. The unique aroma from Mangoes was very intense and goes perfectly well with the Yogurt. The sweetness from the Mango was just good enough to balance up the sourness from the Yogurt and the texture was perfect. However, do note that it melts faster than you thought! Be sure to wallop the whole thing before it melts.  Each Fried Ice Yogurt comes with two small biscuits (hidden at the bottom), two "love letter biscuits" (biscuit rolls) and some sprinkle of Sunflower seeds.

Strawberry Flavored Fried Ice Vanilla (Rm 8.90) is definitely something that Strawberry lovers don't want to miss. I like their idea of adding some Sunflower seeds onto the dessert, giving it a contrast in texture, a very refreshing dessert indeed. However, it was slightly too sour to my liking though.

Kiwi Flavored Fried Ice Vanilla (Rm 8.90) was somehow sourer as compared to Strawberry. I don't really like Kiwi as I found the flavor was rather mild either. Not a bad choice if you prefer slightly sourer dessert but not for me.

Banana Flavored Fried Yogurt (Rm 8.50), if you are observant enough, you would have realized that the Banana has oxidized. A slightly sweeter version with a strong Banana flavor but unfortunately, the oxidized Banana makes the dessert looks rather unappealing to me.

Complimentary Apple Flavored Frozen Yogurt (under their Buy 1 Free 1 grand opening promotion) tasted normal for me. Nothing worth to shout over and in fact, it has some powdery substances affecting the texture which makes me question whether they were using artificial powder flavorings into the making of this frozen yogurt.
