Mizi Bistro @ Tesco Tanjung

If you've walked passed New World Park at night, you'd notice theres a western food outlet that always has a long queue waiting for seating, they are now expanding their business in the newly opened Tesco Tanjung. The prices are slightly higher than those in New World Park. They are offering set meals at Rm25 (for sandwiches, pasta, salad etc) where you can opt to order others with an additional Rm6 based on their ORIGINAL prices. I was rather mislead by this line. It has nothing to do with the Rm25, but instead, it depends on the original price of the dish you'd chosen. For the 4-course meal, soup, main course, dessert and drinks.

Two slices of bread will be given to go with the soup, so do the butter cubes. The bread wasn't crunchy and wasn't toasted, just ordinary bread. The butter cubes were still frozen solid too during the time they were served to us.
Cream of the mushroom soup. It has a very rich and creamy taste and there were chunks of mushrooms in it too but the mushroom flavour wasn't strong enough.

Pumpkin Soup. Very ordinary pumpkin soup that has a very strong garlic flavour in it. Topped with some almond slices, they've successfully created a very nice texture where you can taste some creamy soup and some crunchy almonds at the same time.

A very big portion of London Mixed Grill (Rm 37). It consists of beef, lamb, two chicken sausages and chicken breast. They were so generous that every single meat comes in a rather thick and huge portion. Not to forget the mashed potato and the vegetables too. However, the beef was a bit chewy (over-cooked), try to ask for medium rare or so if you prefer a more tender steak. Recommended due to the portion.

Fillet Beef Roquefort (Rm 38) The fillet was coated with white sauce so it does seem a bit weird on the combination. Taste was just okay due to the weird combination, my friend who tasted this commented: White sauce and beef doesn't match.

Rib Eye Beef Dijionaise (Rm37). Well for those of you who wonder what it is named Dijon. Mainly due to its sauce having Dijon Mustard as main ingredients. Most of the mustard from Dijon (a place) has alcohol in it nowadays, well, everyone knows beef works well with alcohol right ? The sauce brings abit sourish together with the unique flavour of Dijon mustard, its very appetizing but I have no idea why would a fried egg has to do with the rib eye steak. Although I adore fried egg a lot but it has no contribution being here at all. Decoration perhaps ?

After the heavy meal, you can actually enjoy your dessert--ice cream. If you'd ordered the course meal, the ice cream will be a free flow one. For Ala Carte, you will need to top Rm 6 in order to enjoy this privilege. They have various kinds of ice cream for you to choose so do the chocolate and strawberry syrup and some toppings too.

The interior design of the restaurant was very cozy indeed. Suitable for chit chatting, friends gathering etc. No service nor government tax will be added to the bill. Prices shown are nett price.
