Urban Retreat @ Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road, Bangkok, Thailand.

Nestled in the heart of one of Bangkok’s most sophisticated neighborhoods, Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road offers a refreshing take on boutique luxury. With its bold design inspired by the city’s broadcasting heritage, the five-star property seamlessly blends local charm with contemporary elegance. Just a short walk from BTS Ploenchit and surrounded by embassies, office suites, shopping malls, and city landmarks, the hotel serves as an ideal base for both leisure and business travelers.

During my recent trip to Bangkok, I checked into Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road- and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the getaway. We were warmly welcomed since the moment we stepped in the hotel, seamless check-in process, comfortable-spacious room with full amenities, a pool with great view, 24-hour gym and strategic location!

Lunch or Dinner @ CHAR Restaurant and Rooftop Bar

Scallop Tiradito and Crackers (810 THB)

Beef Tartare a la Parisienne (810 THB)

Steak Frites, Cafe de Paris Butter (1,740 THB)

Grilled Salmon a L'Oseille (890 THB)

Classic Profiteroles (350 THB)

Perched on the 25th floor of Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road, CHAR Restaurant offers a sophisticated dining experience in a polished setting that seamlessly blends brasserie-inspired cuisine with stunning sky-high views of the city. Just a floor above, the 26th-floor rooftop bar offers a sleek and atmospheric space—perfect for sunset cocktails and small plates.

Helming the culinary direction is Executive Chef Nicolas Raynal, a French talent with global credentials, bringing a fresh perspective to the hotel’s offerings as it marks a decade in hospitality. CHAR's menu reflects Chef Nicolas' French roots and global adventures, emphasizing classic French dishes, comforting flavors, and creative reinterpretations.

Raw meat lovers will be glad to know that CHAR serves an excellent Beef Tartare, prepared tableside by Chef Nicolas himself. He walks you through the ingredients as he prepares the dish—using a luscious confit egg yolk in place of the traditional raw yolk. Cognac is folded in for extra depth and creaminess, adding a luxurious touch to this timeless appetizer. The Scallop Tiradito is another must-try starter: sashimi-grade scallops dressed in Passion Fruit Tiger Milk (a Peruvian-inspired marinade similar to ceviche), served with Wasabi Guacamole and Shiso Oil. It’s a bright, zesty flavor combo that amplifies the seafood umami in every bite.

For mains, go for the Steak Frites—an iconic French bistro classic. The 180-gram Australian Wagyu Striploin needs no further introduction when it comes to tenderness and quality. Prefer seafood? The Grilled Salmon Ă  l’Oseille is just as satisfying. Pair your mains with their French Fries—crispy, golden, and best enjoyed with their signature homemade ketchup, which has a surprising and pleasant ginger kick.

Whatever you do, don’t leave CHAR without trying the desserts. The Classic Profiteroles with Chantilly Cream and Vanilla Ice Cream are to die for—the cream is airy yet full of bold vanilla notes, while the crusty profiteroles provide the perfect contrast in texture. We rounded off our meal with a glass of red (Château Bel Air – Wine by the Glass, 420 THB), a fitting end to a well-curated culinary evening.
