Yu Village 渔家庄 @ Autocity River Park, Perai, Penang.

The love for Seafood noodles- a bowl of ocean wholesome-ness continues to expand with the opening of Yu Village 渔家庄 at Autocity River Park, a new extended space by Autocity. Yu Village 渔家庄 is amongst the new spate of tenants at Autocity River Park, offering a menu full of seafood delights. Owned by the Edo Ichi Group, the quality speaks for itself. The menu comprises of Chinese-style Seafood Noodles, Meat Noodles, Curry Noodles and sides; expect to pay slightly more for the freshness/quality and dining atmosphere though. In case you are wondering- no, the Edo Ichi Membership does not work here so there is no additional discount for members.

Noodles with Mixed Seafood 混合海鲜面 (Rm 28.90)

Noodles with Sliced Fried Fish (Rm 26.90) 炸鱼片面/ Bone Broth with Tomato Soup and Milk 招牌奶香番茄汤 (Rm 2)

Dry Noodles with homemade Wild Sea Fish Paste 手打鱼滑面 (Rm 18.90)

Blanched Baby Octopus 白灼八爪鱼 (Rm 23.90)

Ice Blended Taro 紫芋冰沙 (Rm 14.80)

The best seller would be the Mixed Seafood Noodles, which apparently also the best dish we've had at Yu Village. The broth carried a clear Seafood sweetness with a generous serving of Seafood- Prawn, Squid, Grouper Fish slices and Flower Clams. We thought it was a perfectly executed, lovely and timeless combo. The one with the Milk based Tomato Soup paled when in comparison... the Milk had not done much in its aid but on the exactly opposite- toned down the seafood sweetness. We found it monotonous to be frank. The Fried Grouper Slices were delicious- firm meat with crispy batter. We've also had the Dry version (Egg Noodles) with home-made Fish Paste, not bad and we thought it offered the best value. The blanched Octopus was okay- fresh but for the portion, we thought it was overpriced.
