NOTA Cafe Restaurant @ Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, Selangor.

A cafe in the day time and a restaurant in the evenings, NOTA Cafe Restaurant is a well-established cafe restaurant in the Kota Kemuning (Shah Alam) neighborhood. NOTA serves a good brunch menu as well as a full-fledged dinner menu. It is found on the 1st floor of a corner shop lot, it is swathed in shades of earthy tones with eclectic styles... with a Bohemian touch. Cozy dining atmosphere aside, NOTA churns out a big Pork-Free menu, featuring many international delights and in-house specialties. Definitely a place worth checking out for a casual dine out in the neighborhood.

Many Thanks to NOTA Cafe Restaurant for hosting us.

Seafood Ceviche (Rm 24)

Parmigiana (Rm 22)

Crispy Dragon Bass (Rm 68)

Seafood Scoglio Risotto (Rm 58)

Grape Citrus Sangria (Rm 15/ Mocktail)

Start off light with something appetizing, the Seafood Ceviche fits for the stage. It consists of raw Norwegian Fjord Trout, Tuna, Japanese Tako marinated in homemade Lime Vinaigrette and served with fresh Cucumber, Avocado, Onions and heirloom Tomatoes. The freshness of the ingredients speaks for themselves while the Lime Vinaigrette introduces a sleek tanginess to the dish. A dish not to be missed by Cheese lovers, the Parmigiana contains Cameron Highlands Eggplant, baked with Cheddar, Mozzarella and Parmesan; some fresh Basils are also added for the herbaceous aroma.

For mains, go for their signature dishes. One of the best sellers- the Crispy Dragon Bass puts the Chef's skills to test. The Seabass is first cured for 3 days before roasted; the scales are to be presented in crispy texture to create the contrast. The accompanying Carrot puree, mashed Potato-Chick Peas are equally delicious and served with light, smoked Hollandaise sauce. Every flavor combo is well-thought of and skillfully planned. The Seafood Scoglio Risotto is another signature dish of theirs. Unlike the usual creamy Risotto, NOTA uses a different approach- Tomato base. The broth is Seafood Bisque and the dish is served with char-grilled Tiger Prawns and Japanese Octopus. The Umami in this Risotti is bold and as you dig further, the refreshing tanginess from the Tomatoes offers another layer of dimension. Japanese Genmai Rice is used in this Risotto, instead of the typical short-grain Rice.
