2 Acres Cafe @ Balik Pulau, Penang.

A cafe built in the middle of a Durian Orchard at Balik Pulau, 2 Acres Cafe gained its fame in a short period of time due to its unique location that offers exclusive ambiance second to none. The location is a little off the beaten track and would require another 15-20 minute of drive from Balik Pulau town. It's hard to miss the place, the entire park is properly built to cater for visitors... with ample parking, clean washroom, air-conditioned cafe with plenty of photo-shooting spots. There's also a durian stall right outside the cafe entrance if you must know. There is no entrance fee to this place but the prices for the food and drink items are understandably higher. The place is often packed during afternoons so plan your trip accordingly.

The Granola Fruit Bowl was nothing out of the ordinary- it has some nutty Granola served atop of blended Red Dragon Fruit, Banana, Blueberries and some Grapes. The flavor combo was pretty straight-forward but we thought the Red Dragon Fruit puree was a little too scarce to go with the Granola and we ended up having a hard time to finish chewing all the Granola (also very dry in texture). The Big Breakfast Club was a huge disappointment, none of the items were exciting. Expect to see some ersatz Chicken Sausage, overcooked Scrambled Egg, greasy Stir Fried Mushrooms with Spinach, buttered Sourdough and Hash. Definitely overpriced for this selection and portion. The flavor combo for the Salted Egg French Toast was alright, but we would appreciate the dish more if they could soak the Toast a little more, the Eggy element was weak here. Again, definitely overpriced for a measly piece of French Toast.
