Link Hill Top Restaurant 灵园山顶饭馆 @ Karangan, Kulim, Kedah.

Deep inside an estate at Karangan area, it takes a while to reach Link Hill Top Restaurant 灵园山顶饭馆. From the main road of Jalan Karangan, simply follow the signage and turn in a small, narrow alley. Keep driving along the alley and you will reach the area. The ride might be a little bumpy as the road condition is not very good. The restaurant is found on a hilltop, right next to a flowing stream. On the food menu, it has a Chinese stir fry menu with a big selection of fresh water fishes to choose from. Price points are slightly higher than usual but they commensurate with quality; it's also fun and exciting to explore something out of the norm.

Steamed Wild Catfish with Soy Sauce (Rm 8/ 100 grams)

Link Hill Top's signatures are all the freshly caught fresh water fishes. The Steamed Catfish was delicious- fresh, succulent and served with their premium Soy sauce... simple but delicious. The Thai-Style Deep Fried Tilapia was something different- served with a concoction of Lemongrass, Shallots, Garlic, Bird's Eye Chilies, Lime and Fish Sauce... almost like a Thai-style Salad. With the crisply fried fish, the bite was addictive and extremely satisfying. We also enjoyed the White Bait Fish with chewy, addictive bite and saliva-inducing flavors. We did not like the Sea Snails though, we thought the texture was a little hard to the bite and they barely registered any flavor. We were happy with the meal but we discovered a terrible thirst a couple hours later... not too sure if too much of flavor-enhancer was added though.
