Le Brunch @ Chow Thye Road, Georgetown, Penang.

If you are one supporter of the booming Brunch trend, watch out Le Brunch... a new Brunch-specialist  that took over Monkeycup Cafe at Chow Thye Road. As its name would suggest, Le Brunch offers a Brunch-focused menu; it started off only focusing in Brunch items but it has since, slowly expanded to offer more items and extended their business hours to late evenings as well. The Western menu is quite extensive- from appetizers to light/ heavy Brunch items, Mains (like roasted goods/ Pasta) or even desserts. Nothing much has changed for its interior decor- the cozy charm remains unchanged. The prices vary for dishes but generally fall within the affordable range. Hit up the place if you are seeking for a fuss-free brunch place with plenty of Halal options.

Many Thanks to Le Brunch for hosting us.

Seafood Risotto (Rm 35.90)

Creamy Carbonara (Rm 17.90)

Egg Benedict (Rm 16.90)

Seafood Chowder (Rm 19.90)

Gambas Al Ajito (Rm 18.90)

Je Ne Sais Pas (Rm 23.90)

Green Detox (Rm 11.90)

For lighter option, you can start off with popular Brunch item like Egg Benedict. Le Brunch's rendition was good, the replacement of Chicken Ham was alright either. Though the smokiness was missing, the salty meat essence was still present. On the Egg, it was nicely cooked, but would be better with an extra pinch of Salt to spice things up a little. For Pasta, it is always safe to have Creamy Carbonara. Le Brunch's was spot on with its creaminess and a bold Egg-aroma. The sauce was a little watery towards the end but the flavor was not affected. A pretty substantial portion and for that price tag, it is a value for money order. We got a shock when the Seafood Risotto was served to us, the portion could easily fit 2 diners and above. The rice was slightly mushy and wet to our liking and the Tomato flavor was too overwhelming. Otherwise, the Risotto would be a contenting dish to share. For sweet ending, the Je Ne Sais Pas is not on the menu. Simply ask the server on what are the desserts available and likely they would recommend this. The name means "I Do Not Know" in French, it has a piece of Cheesecake topped with Berry-infused Chocolate Mousse, served with Berry sauce. The sweetness and acidity was well-balanced; good on its own but even better if they could serve a scoop of icy cold Ice Cream.
