A place to cool off amidst the sultry tropical heat- Mid Summer Love 仲夏之恋 is one of the latest spots in town offering icy cool sweet treats. The cafe specializes in offering Taiwanese-styled shaved ice; while it does not carry a very big menu (no mains at all), the shaved ice options cover both traditional and fruity flavors. Price points are slightly steep but the serving portion for one shaved ice is usually good enough for 2 diners. Seats are limited, especially with the social distancing rule in place, the waiting time can be a little longer during its soft opening stage.

The Mid Summer Bear series is one of its best sellers; we had the Matcha version... creamy, milky shaved ice base garnished with Chocolates and served with Matcha Pudding and Sweet Potato Balls. The concoction was lightly sweetened with discernible Matcha flavor but we were not impressed with the overall flavor combo. Though not disappointed, we thought it was just an okay-average shaved ice. The Honey Waffle on the other hand, was a great disappointment. Not that the Waffle's quality was bad, we detest the addition of those artificial, cheap sweet rainbow sprinkles... ruining the entire dish. There was nothing out of the ordinary about this Honey Waffle either. Unlikely a place that I would go all out for their desserts.
