EJI Nutrition Premium @ Pine Valley Business Center, Paya Terubong, Penang.

Designed for body builders and weight-watchers, the in-house cafe of EJI Nutrition Premium (an established bodybuilding supplement brand) is a place for gym-goers to fill in their tummies before/post workout. Besides retailing for supplements on the ground floor and a huge gym space on the upper floors, the in-house cafe offers a healthy menu meant for gym-goers. All of the food offerings are oil-free and packed with proteins as well as a fair share of greens/ fiber. The kitchen also churns out protein shakes for gym-goers so the entire building is pretty much like a one-stop center for body builders. But do not expect anything great about the dining space... just some simple tables and chairs (though fully air-conditioned to ensure comfortness). Budget watchers would be glad to know that a good portion of main here costs a little less than Rm 12 and the serving portion is fairly large; so probably a good news for those who wish to make a change to their physique or try to eat healthier/ leaner.

Classic Bowl (Rm 10.50)

Yogurt Chicken Poke Bowl (Rm 11.50)

Avocado Matcha Bowl (Rm 16)

The servers gave really good advice on the food offering- we were told that the Classic Bowl may be quite bland (the healthily bland type) and true enough, it was minimally seasoned. Only Brown Rice is used at EJI's cafe and for the Classic Bowl, the Brown Rice was lightly seasoned with light Soy sauce while the remaining toppings carried no seasoning at all. But the combo was lovely, the Chicken was nicely done and the Broccoli was beautifully cooked with a juicy crunch. Yogurt Chicken Poke Bowl was more interesting.... the blanched Chicken meat was dressed in a Yogurt sauce and served over Sriracha Mayo. It carried a hint of creaminess with a touch of spiciness, the whole combo was appetizing and all elements amalgamated perfectly. We also had a bowl of the Avocado Matcha Bowl, which was again, very impressive. The Matcha flavor was discernible but not overpowering... with a hint of Avocado. The concoction was not overly sweetened but carried a sleek sweetness... served with different fresh Kiwi, Banana, Granola, Blueberries and some dried Coconut flakes.
