Soylab 帅不离 @ Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Silky smooth, incredibly soft and most importantly healthy, Soya Beancurd has always been a favorite dessert for Malaysians but Soylab has pushed the boundaries further by introducing a series of Soy-related sweet treats. For those living in Klang Valley should not be new to the name as the brand has recently taken social media by storm. Not only that the desserts appear good on pictures, they are less-guilt as compared to some heavier options. While classic Soya Beancurd is available at Soylab, other notably creative flavors include Black Sesame Beancurd, Pumpkin Beancurd, Grass Jelly Beancurd as well as some uncommonly seen desserts like Soyffle (Soy-Souffle Pancake), Soy Waffle etc. Prices are budget-friendly but the only problem is the overwhelming crowd... which a long-wait is inevitable. If you are planning to make a trip here, you may try to secure a place via their Facebook Page or give them a call.

All the treats we had at Soylab were packed with bold bean taste. Start off with the Shuai Beancurd, a display of Soylab's classic Soya Beancurd with 2 toppings (we had Glutinous Rice Balls and Tapioca Pearls), served over Palm Sugar and some Soya Milk. The texture was amazingly light but rich in flavor; while credits need to be given to the silky smooth texture, we thought the real soul to the dessert was the Palm Sugar. It was thick, rich but packed a powerful punch; definitely sweet but not overly so. It can be better tasted on the Soy Frozen... a shaved Soy-ice dessert, drizzled over Palm Sugar and served with Tapioca Pearls. The combination was beyond amazing... with the sweetness perfectly calibrated. We were further blown away by the Signature Soyffle; though it required a 30-minute wait, we thought the wait was worth while. The Souffle Pancake was extremely light and fluffy; good on its own but even better (or richer) to enjoy with Soya Soft Serve (and a little bit of Honey).
