Mr. Flacko @ Prangin Lane, Georgetown, Penang.

If you are into Tex-Mex cuisine, there is a place for you in Georgetown. Found at the junction to Fish Lane and Prangin Lane, Mr. Flacko is a new addition to the Penang food scene. It does not have fancy, elegant decor but a simple dining space housed in an old Penang heritage house. The menu carries a fairly large selection of Mexican delights, including the usual Burritos, Tacos, Tortillas, Quesadillas... with an array of their home-made desserts (which has got nothing to do with Tex-Mex offering). Prices are very affordable but taste-wise, there are plenty of rooms for improvements.

Tortilla Chips (Rm 7/ with Salsa and Guacamole)

Quesadilla (Rm 8/ Beef)

Flacko Special (Rm 15/ Beef)

Pollo Taco (Rm 14)

Lemon Cream Cheese Cupcake (Rm 5)

While the Tortilla Chips can be added to make it a set by topping up Rm 1, we decided to go for a stand-alone order as we wanted to try their Guacamole and Salsa (only Mayonnaise will be given for set). The Chips were deep fried and stained with oil, they were not properly strained so they were a tad too greasy to our liking. The Guacamole was alright but the Salsa could be more refreshing (prefer finer texture with more herbs). Like-wise, the Quesadilla was a disappointment either. They were swimming in a pool of oil and imagine the guilt of eating it. The Burrito- Flacko Special on the other hand, was okay. Though missing a bit of crunch, the flavor was perfectly fine... with a spicy kick. The Pollo Taco was... meh.
