Copper Bar & Restaurant @ Armenian Street, Georgetown, Penang.

Found at a touristy area of Armenian Street, Copper Bar and Restaurant has a traditionally Chinese facade but classy-glossy interior; one may think that its a new boutique hotel. In actual fact, the rustic spot offers an interesting food menu with a wide range of alcohol beverages. The dinner menu (with a local touch) seems to be wildly creative but we were there early- brunch menu was the only menu on offer. Prices are certainly on the higher side but the quality commensurate with the price tags; at least it gets the basics right... with the servers delivering warm hospitality, this is definitely one of the places for a worthy breakfast.

Cured Salmon (Rm 25)

Grill (Rm 28)

Belgium Waffles (Rm 20)

We love how the Chef paid close attention to detail; for Cured Salmon, it featured two pieces of English Muffin topped with different toppings- stir fried Spinach and poached Egg with Hollandaise sauce. The Spinach and Shimeiji Mushrooms were expertly cooked and seasoned... crunchy with a burst of juice; the poached Egg was perfect either... with savory Smoked Salmon and creamy Hollandaise sauce. But the catch was the English Muffin, they have somehow did it correctly, the combination was beyond amazing.

Grill brought us many Big Breakfast elements but the star was the Scrambled Egg... delicately seasoned and carefully cooked- buttery, creamy but fluffy-light. The type of Scrambled Egg that you would not mind eating over and over again. The other elements were nice too but the Scrambled Egg out-shined all of them.

The sweet was a little less exciting than the savories but don't get me wrong. It was delicious. The Belgium Waffles were not as crisp as we would have hoped but the flavor was remarkable. It has a bold Cinnamon flavor and mildly sweetened, served with Honeycomb Butter, Nutmeg Syrup and glazed Banana.
