Formerly Omaya, the spot has since been replaced by Da Seo Korean Restaurant... a new Pork-Free Korean restaurant, with lesser choices. The relationship between the 2 brands remains unclear but what we could tell was the similarities on the offering. Though there is a cut on the menu, the signature dishes remain untouched. Neither the prices nor the interior decor did not change much either but the quality deteriorated and did not meet up to our expectations....
Spicy Boneless Chicken Cubes (Rm 29.90)
Seafood Army Stew (Rm 49.90)
Kimchi Shimson Stew (Rm 48.90)
Spicy Chicken Wings (Rm 24.90)
Korean Lunch Box (Rm 17.90)
The signature Spicy Boneless Chicken Cubes was still alright... at least it lived up to our expectations. The Chicken -Cheese combination was lovely; like most Korean Fried Chicken, it carried an indelible sweetness with a hint of spiciness. Equally good was the Korean Lunch Box... a concoction of Korean Kimchi, Seaweed Flakes, Chicken Sausages and a Sunny Side Up. The taste was pretty much straight-forward... though simple but it was most satisfying.
The disappointments were the stews.... both were a let-down. The Seafood Army Stew barely registered any Korean element, except that the dollop of Korean Spicy sauce. The Seafood was not as fresh as we would have hoped either; for that serving portion at that price, we thought it was a rip off. Kimchi Shimson Stew offered more Cheeses but the taste did not shine; not too sure on the reason for this drop of quality but it was a disappointing meal.
