Paint some colors to your day by visiting Watercolor Bakery and Cafe at Magazine Road (walking distance from M Summit 191)... the first branch outside of Kuala Lumpur. Like what suggested by its name, Watercolor is both a bakery and a cafe, it offers a range of home-baked pastries and bread as well as a menu featuring Sandwiches and Toasts. Though the menu is not as colorful as expected, the products would make any bread lovers weak in the knees. Visit the place after 5 pm and most bread/ pastries will be on 50% discount. Chic but simple interior decor with cozy atmosphere, I can see the place as one of the options for Afternoon Tea in town.
Teriyaki Salmon Rice Bowl (Rm 28/ inclusive of a cup of Coffee or Tea or Fruit Juice)
Toasted Bagel served with Cream Cheese (Rm 7)
Dark Chocolate Walnut Tart (Rm 9)
One of the special items on offer- any order of the Teriyaki Salmon Rice Bowl comes with a cup of Coffee, Tea or Fruit Juice... cooked Salmon, Avocado, Greens (Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Broccoli) and Hard-boiled Eggs, served atop of Japanese Rice and over Teriyaki sauce. The combination would fit for any health-watchers; the Japanese touch of Teriyaki Sauce was the soul of the dish but everything was basically straight-forward, no extra seasoning was used. For those who yearn for lighter options, the Toasted Bagel is a good choice.
For sweet treat, the Dark Chocolate Walnut Tart was less-satisfying. The texture of the Chocolate flakes were less-smooth and thus, affected the overall texture. But the less-sweet factor would suit the weight-watchers.
