For an unfussy, classic home-cooked dishes, find this hidden gem at Nibong Tebal. Jin Bi Luo (金比罗) does not have a big signage but just an ordinary house along the main street. It's a residential house with some basic dining tables setup... more like a place that serves the local community, the place does not have a fix menu but those who are in the know would be able to tell what are the must-haves. It was not our lucky day as their signature Mee Udang was sold out on our visit, so if you wish to savor the best, be sure to arrive there early. The menu is not particularly unique but if you so happened to be in the vicinity, this place offers a hearty, home-cooked quick fix.

The Basil Fried Rice sure did not seem like a dish that could whet our appetite, presentation-wise. But we were proven wrong, the Rice was delicately seasoned with the firm texture, every single one of them was enveloped with the delightful charred aroma. Just as we thought it may be a little monotonous, the Basil cuts through the dimension. We were advised to enjoy the Fried Rice with their home-made Thai Chili dip. It was a cleverly made concoction with sweet, sour and spicy notes. It blended very well with the dish and we thought the combination was rather addictive. The Snack Platter was disappointingly average though. We do look forward to try their Mee Udang next time.
