Apollow Coffee House (阿波罗饮食中心) @ Apollo Market, Butterworth, Penang.

Apollo Market is one of the largest wet markets in the state (of Penang), for those who are unfamiliar with the market, you might find yourself in trouble when it comes to getting yourself a decent breakfast from the myriad hawker stalls. Apollow Coffee House, a humble Hawker-Coffee House tucked within the market, has a couple of worth-trying dishes. It should be quite easy to spot the Coffee House, simply locate the new "roof" erected by the state government and Apollow Coffee House should be right next to it. Also, a note to my readers, most of the hawker stalls there will be closed after noon, hence, it will be ideal to visit them for breakfast or early brunch.

Their Mee Jawa (Rm 3- Regular) is a worth-recommending choice. Perfectly cooked Yellow Noodles and Vermicelli Noodles drenched in their flavorful sauce. The sauce was thick but not overly sweeten, even better with a squeeze of the refreshing Lime Juice for the tinge of acidity, but the real draw of the dish was the hot and spicy Chili Paste which gives the dish a boost. The addition of crushed toasted Peanuts and Crackers added a bit of crunch to the dish, perfectly complementing the sauce. A pleasingly comforting dish that you can eat on a regular basis.

Their Wanton Mee (Rm 3 for Regular) is a safe bet; unlike any usual Wanton Mee, the noodles were not as bouncy as expected but the absence of Lye Water was an extra bonus. The dish tasted like Dry Pan Mee instead of Wanton Mee, not too shabby for a twist of change. The dish was further heightened with their home-made Chili Paste, albeit not lip-numbingly hot, but it adds an interesting touch to the dish.
