Mee Goreng/ Mee Rebus @ Kompleks Makanan Pesiaran Gurney, Gurney Drive, Penang.

There is this infamous Mee Goreng/ Mee Rebus tucked within this place- Kompleks Makanan Pesiaran Gurney, a Malay-Mamak hawker center along Gurney Drive. The award-winning Indian-Muslim Mee Goreng is famous for its good quality and reasonable price. To get to Kompleks Makanan Pesiaran Gurney, simply locate the chain convenient store- 7 Eleven along Gurney Drive, the hawker center is right beside 7 Eleven. Another worth-trying dish would be Pasembur which is also commonly known as Indian Rojak.  There were quite a number of office workers still patronizing the place during my visit. I'm sure there are some reasons why these stalls are still standing strong after so many years and the fierce competition amongst the competitors.

Possessed plenty of "Wok Hei", their Mee Goreng (Rm 5/ with Fish Cake added) was a well-executed dish. Unlike some Mee Goreng stalls in Penang, their "gravy" was more to savory type instead of the cloyingly sweet sauce. The Mee Goreng was also lightly flavored and might not be suitable for those who prefer bold flavors. Do ask for extra "hot" if you prefer your Mee Goreng to be lip-numbing hot. A pretty decent Mee Goreng but definitely not the best in town.

I had my Mee Rebus (Rm 9) added with loads of Cuttlefish. This plate of seafood goodness has a balanced medley of savory, sweet and spicy; good on its own but even better with the addition of Lime juice to push the flavors to a whole new level. I like how the thick and rich gravy beautifully clung on the noodles; a well-executed dish but not mind blowing, probably I was hoping it to be a little hotter and spicier.

Pasembur (Rm 4/ small) also known as Indian Rojak, consists of Indian Fried Fritters, Potatoes, Hard-Boiled Egg, blanched Bean Sprouts, julienned Cucumbers and Jicama, drenched with their tantalizing sweet and spicy Pasembur sauce. The gigantic portion is meant for sharing, unless you are a big eater. You may try some of their "add-ons" too if you wish. The magical mix of their uniquely made Pasembur sauce and the condiments was inexplicably pleasing. Overall score? Standard satisfaction obtained but not mind-blowing.
