Regular patrons at Queensbay Mall should be quite familiar with this place- Taiwan Bull. The restaurant has been there in the mall for quite a few years, it was situated at the Lower Ground floor earlier ago but it has now moved to Queens Market, at level three of Queensbay Mall. As the name might have hinted you, Taiwan Bull serves Taiwanese food mainly. They do have quite an impressive amount of choices to offer but the choices are not that stand out in terms of uniqueness. While most items are priced reasonably, their service could be more attentive in my opinion.
After some considerations, we've decided to go for their set lunch, which includes Drink and Dessert. Hot & Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup (Rm 17.90) which comes with some Shrimps, Crab Sticks, and Fish Balls. Don't judge a book by its cover. Despite the fact that the soup looks fiery hot, the fact that it wasn't. It has a hint of sourness and was pleasantly appetizing. The noodles on the other hand, gives a standard satisfactory. No, they weren't very springy but neither soggy nor mushy.
This enticing Hot & Spicy Beef Noodles (Rm 19.90) was delectable, I was thinking that the broth might be slightly too watery and not flavorful enough. I was once again, proven wrong. The broth was robust in flavor, with a hint of spiciness. It comes with some diced Pickled Vegetables, Beef Tendon, Beef Balls as well as some Carrots. The Beef Tendon was tender-chewy, giving an extra layer of dimension to the dish; the best part was, it was not too tender nor too chewy, just the way I like. However, it would be ideal if the broth were to be slightly spicier to tickle my taste buds. Not the best Taiwanese Beef Noodles I had but good enough.
The complimentary dessert which came together with the set lunch. It was some Herbal Jelly on a bed of Shaved Ice, drizzled with some Gula Melaka. It was slightly on the sweeter side but nevertheless, the icy cold dessert was a refreshing and delightful one to end the meal.
