Finding quality Western food in Penang does not necessarily require you to travel far or fork out high bills- Xii Chan, one of the new Western food joints is one good example. Established in July 2020, Xii Chan is manned by a very experienced team and offers an unbelievable array of Western dishes suitable for both social hangouts or casual quick fix. The Set Lunch is affordably priced from Rm 18.80 with a starter, main and a drink. There are plenty of choices, ranging from Chicken, Pork, Fish to Beef... as well as some Pasta choices; all are affordably priced that would not put a dent on the wallet. Definitely one great place where you can have quality Western food in a comfortable setting.

Xii Chan's Oriental Chicken Chop is one of their signature dishes and best sellers- the traditional heritage sauce/ stock is slowly cooked over low heat for more than 7 hours to fully accentuate its flavor and to reach its consistency. As for the Chicken, Xii Chan uses fresh Chicken for marination and no frozen Chicken will be used. The slightly sweet-savory sauce paired well with the crispy Fried Chicken Chop and works equally well with the Fries as well. It is noteworthy that Xii Chan replaces the usual Salad (dressed with Mayonnaise or Thousand Island) with a healthier option of Fruit Salad. For those with bigger appetite or would prefer to have a variety of meat, go for their Mix Grill. Meant to serve 2 diners, the Mix Grill consists of Grilled Chicken Chop, Grilled Tilapia, Smoked Chicken Ham, Smoked Duck Breast, Sausage and a Sunny Side Up served with Fries and Fruit Salad. The suggested serving sauce is Black Pepper sauce but diners may request to change should they have any specific sauce in mind. For fish lovers, Xii Chan also offers Salmon... served with their home-made Butter Cream. Each piece of Salmon weighs around 180 grams to 200 grams and carefully pan fried till perfection. Also worth mentioning is Xii Chan's another signature dish- Oxtail Soup... baked and slow cooked for at least 5 hours, the heavily spiced tender meat is many regular patron's returning factor. To complete your Set Lunch meal, top up Rm 4.90 to make it a meal... which includes a serving of homemade Mushroom Soup and a serving of Iced Lemon Tea.
