Managed by the same management as Souper Tang, Ages Ago specializes in offering Sesame Oil Noodles. The brand is well-established in southern Malaysia but it is the first outlet in Penang. Ages Ago at Gurney Plaza occupies a small space at the lower ground floor of the mall, offering a small menu featuring their Sesame Oil Rice and Noodle, alongside with some sides. The seating space is however, very limited; dining there is not as comfortable as expected... probably the place is designed to cater for takeaways. While the serving portion is not very big, the price point is pretty reasonable and wallet-friendly. Not too shabby for a quick meal but definitely not the place to go especially on occasions or family dining.

The signature Sesame Oil Chicken Soup Mee Suah was reasonably seasoned and the Mee Suah was silky smooth but the lack of bold Sesame Oil flavor and Ginger-aroma left us underwhelmed. We thought they could be bolder to bring out better flavors. They could be more generous with the Chicken either, or merely they were cut into small pieces and the texture was less-satisfying. The Rice version on the other hand, fared better in our opinion. The Rice seemed to absorb the flavors better... though the Ginger and Sesame Oil aroma was still too mild to be discerned. All sides were great except Braised Tau Kee... which registered a jolting sweetness... too sweet that we thought we were having some dessert.
